OCPD Find Loaded Handgun During Traffic Stop

OCEAN CITY, Md. - Ocean City Police say they found a loaded handgun during a traffic stop over the weekend.

Police say Officers pulled over a car in the area if 127th St. on Saturday night, around 10:00 PM.

According to reports, during the traffic stop, officers smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Reports say the officers found the handgun when they were patting down one of the passengers of the car, later identified as 22 year-old David Wiggins of Waldorf, Maryland.

Police say Wiggins did not have a permit to carry the loaded 9mm pistol. He was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun.

He was later released.
