Caretaker Charged With Elder Abuse In Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury woman is behind bars after allegedly not taking care of an elderly woman who lives with her. Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says they arrested 53-year-old Neosha Chandler, a reported caretaker, after the elderly person was brought to the hospital.

An investigation showed, the elderly person, who is bedridden, was living in terrible conditions, including having to sit in their own feces and urine in the bed, and a cockroach infestation. Social Services also informed Deputies that they had been to the Walnut Tree home to check on the elderly person, but Chandler refused the let them in.

She is charged with abuse of vulnerable adult by custodian, abuse of vulnerable adult by a family member, and reckless endangerment. Chandler is being held at the Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
