EASTON, Md. - Easton police say a five car accident on Route 50 was caused by a driver that was allegedly texting while driving.
On Saturday, Police say they responded to the area of Ocean Gateway and Dutchman's lane for an accident involving five vehicles. Investigators say a 2003 Nissan rear-ended another car in the left turn lane. This reportedly caused a chain reaction involving the three cars ahead of them.
Police say the driver of the Nissan has been allegedly texting while driving. Officials say the driver was cited a released.
According to reports, several people involved in the accident were transported to a local hospital for injuries.
