Wicomico Co. Responds To Fraud Allegations

Posted: Updated:

WICOMICO CO., Md. - Wicomico County officials are speaking out after a council member alleges fraud.

Last week, councilman Bob Culver publicly commented on the bid process for the new state's attorney building suggesting that the building was selected before the request for proposal was finished.

WMDT spoke with Wicomico County Executive Rick Pollitt, who tells us that statement is completely untrue.

"Five to two said that the county council did not have any problem with that process, so it's just irresponsible and it's reckless and we can't have anyone, especially someone of elected leadership going around and slandering the rest of us," said Pollitt.

A phone call was placed to councilman Culver about the county's response, but he has yet to return the call.
