DOVER, Del. - Police have arrested two people after they were allegedly caught stealing copper wire. Delaware State Police say around 2:40 AM on Thursday, an employee of Shady Brook Farms on Bayside Drive in Dover, called them about someone stealing wire from their irrigation system.

Troopers found the suspect vehicle, a blue Dodge mini-van, on Marshtown Road, with the driver, 45-year-old Bonnie Henderson of Dover, inside. A short while later, officials say 42-year-old Dave Blawn, of Felton, Henderson's boyfriend, came out from the woods.

Both were arrested, and charged with possession of burglar tools, 2nd degree conspiracy, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass. Police say during a search of the van they found bolt cutters.

An investigation revealed that Blawn was linked to at least four other incidents of stolen wire, going back to November 2012, in and around Dover and Magnolia. Police say Blawn would go into the farm fields, and take the copper wire off of the irrigation systems by snipping it with bolt cutters.

Blawn was additionally charged with 10 counts of felony theft, 3 more counts of criminal mischief, and 4 more counts of criminal trespass. He is being held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, on bond. Henderson was released.
