OC Skate Park To Stay Open

Posted: Updated:
OCEAN CITY, Md. - One contentious issue in Ocean City budget skated through with no problem Monday night, and now the Ocean Bowl skate park will remain open *year round*.

Apparently there was an unused $13, 444 in the budget, meant for charity use.  The council voted to use it instead, to maintain the park's hours.  We spoke with skate-boarders today, about the vote.

"I think it's good because a lot of kids and people my age come here every day, and if it was closed, I think people would have nothing to do," says Tyler Odachowski.

Tyler's friend, Jack Hammond, tolds us "we don't have to worry about going to other parks or being I the streets."

The council had proposed closing the Ocean Bowl Skate Park in the months of January and February in order to save the town $15,000, but that is no longer an issue.
