POCOMOKE CITY, Md. - Oneida Mariner Parsons, 73 of Pocomoke City, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.  Born August 13, 1939 in Stockton, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Madaline Allen Mariner.  A graduate of Snow Hill High School, she attended the Jefferson School of Commerce in Salisbury and then worked for the C & P Telephone Co. for several years before starting her career at the Wallops Flight Facility, where she retired with 30 years of service.  Oneida was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Pocomoke City.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Robert E. "Bob" Parsons of Pocomoke; one son, Mark E. Parsons of Salisbury; one sister, Shelley M. Wilson and her husband Elmer of Georgetown, DE and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth R. Mariner and one sister, Nelda Mariner Maddox.

A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Paul Elligson, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 20, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Pocomoke City, where family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery, 2240 Old Snow Hill Road, Pocomoke City, MD and a reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.  If desired contributions can be made to, First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 204 fourth St., Pocomoke City, MD, 21851.  For more information, visit the Holloway Funeral Home website.
