Record Graduation Class For Salisbury University

SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury University Spring Class of 2013 turned their tassels and sang their alma mater one last time.

University officials say 1,638 students crossed the stage at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center Saturday afternoon, the largest class in university history.

"It means so much," said Dominique Kunciw, who graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences in Chemistry. "Four years of hard work, determination, stress and perseverance, but finally, finally I'm so happy."

Kunciw says she will continue her studies during the fall at the prestigious University of Cambridge in England, exploring the development of drugs for antibiotic-resistant disease while pursuing her Ph.D. This past year she was awarded the Gates Cambridge Scholarship, which will help pay for her tuition.
