Salisbury University Announces New Ventures Overseas

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - The Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative is taking its pilot security program overseas. The ESRGC works on mapping and geological systems.

The group usually does work here in the U-S for local and state government and businesses. They just signed a contract with Texas A & M University in Qutar to provide solutions that help figure out how to get the university's people out of harms way if there was a security situation. The director of the program, Michael Scott, tells WMDT, "How can we find where they are, how do we route them to where they need to go whether they're being flown out of airport or shipped out of the port or whatever it takes in Doha in Qatar."

The Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative is an outreach group of Salisbury University.
