SALISBURY, Md. - Clyde B. Hastings, Jr., 75, of Salisbury died Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Clyde B., Sr. and Helen L. Hastings. He was employed 35 years at Verizon as a Cable Maintenance Supervisor, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church over 50 years, Telephone Pioneers of America, Red Men's Club, Moose, Eagles, AMSA, National Rifle Association, and the Wicomico County Sheriffs Auxiliary.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret Ann (Peggy), two sons, Clyde B. Hastings III and his wife, JoAnn of Salisbury, Dale L. Hastings and his wife, Crystal of Chesapeake, VA, two grandchildren, Colton of Salisbury and Jada Love of Chesapeake, VA; a sister, Nadine H. Phillips and brother-in-law, Leon; two nephews, Michael Phillips and his wife Susan, Jeffrey Phillips and his wife Stacey; three great nephews, Andrew, Logan and Austin; one great niece, Morgan; an aunt, Peggy Lewis of Pocomoke and several cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury. Rev. Rob Townsend will officiate. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 406 N. Division St., Salisbury, MD 21801
