Cambridge Man Charged With Officer Assault

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - A homeless man is facing charges, after allegedly assaulting a police officer. Cambridge Police say they responded to a call about an intoxicated person on near Phillips and Robbins Streets.

Once they arrived on scene, they found 42-year-old Dale Thompson, who was reportedly intoxicated and combative. Officers say while they arrested Thompson, he assaulted one of the officers.

He was charged with 2nd degree assault, disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order, resisting arrest, and alcohol/intoxication endangerment. Thompson is being held without bond at the Dorchester County Detention Center. The officer was not injured during the alleged assault.
