Perdue Makes Large Donation To MD Food Bank

Posted: Updated:

WICOMICO CO., Md. - A major donation to the Maryland Food Bank. Today Perdue Farms presented them with $25,000. That money will help the School Pantry Program in Wicomico County. As part of that program, this Friday, May 17th, nearly 4,000 pounds of food will be distributed to children and families at Beaver Run Elementary School.

Principal, Melissa Eiler, says "We have been able to provide our families with nutritious meals, staples that they can have in their food pantries in their own homes. So the children can have a healthy meal in the evening so the next day they are able to be prepared."

Perdue says they have had a long partnership with the food bank and they understand the need of financial support. They hope this donation will help move the food to the families in need.
