SALISBURY, Md. - A Fruitland man was arrested after allegedly having a handgun in a park. Salisbury Police say an officer was on patrol near Lake Street Playground, when they noticed, a group of men standing around on the basketball court, looking into a bookbag.

The officer reportedly watched the person with the backpack, put it under the bleachers and walk away. According to the report, the officer then went over to the bookbag, and found a revolver inside.

The subject, 27-year-old Dupree Horsey, was arrested, during which he allegedly spit at an officer. Salisbury Police say Horsey is prohibited from having a handgun because of a felony conviction.

He was charged with possession of firearm by prohibited person, possession of handgun, and 2nd degree assault, and released to the custody of Central Booking.
