Details On Fruitland Teen Who Died In Police Chase

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has completed the autopsy of 15 year-old Jorgens Sydney, the Fruitland teen who died after a pursuit with Salisbury Police in March.  The teen was apparently not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The autopsy shows the teen suffered from severe injuries as a result of the single-vehicle crash into a utility pole on Camden Avenue.

Salisbury called on Maryland State Police to investigate the accident, but it appears that report is not in yet.

On March 7th, officers say they tried to pull the teen over, but he fled and led police on a chase, but it ended when Sydney crashed into a pole. He allegedly died from his injuries.

Authorities have decided not to pursue charges against the officers, saying they maintained a safe following distance.
