LEWES, Del. - Police have made an arrest in connection with three May burglaries in Lewes. Delaware State Police have arrested 27-year-old Casey Wiedman, of Lewes, and charged him in the three Sand Dune Village May 9th burglaries. Police say tips from the public led investigators to Wiedman, who then turned himself in on Monday night.

Wiedman is accused of breaking into three homes between 1:00 and 7:20 AM that night, and in one instance, taking 12 guns before fleeing. After the arrest, Police searched Wiedman's home, where they reportedly recovered all 12 guns, and apparently found more than 148 grams for marijuana packaged for sale, and drug paraphernalia.

The investigation into these and additional burglaries that Wiedman might be linked to, is still on-going. Additional charges are reportedly pending, but right now he is charged with a slew of offenses, including 2nd degree burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, drug dealing, and theft of a firearm. He is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution $84,250 bond.

"The Delaware State Police would like to thank the public for their continued support, involvement, and vigilance in providing information and reporting suspicious persons and activity, and thanks to the media for their continued support and news coverage that leads to public tips and information."
