Suspect Pleads Guilty To Heroin And Cocaine Trafficking

Posted: Updated:

BALTIMORE, Md. - A Maryland man has pleaded guilty to heroin and cocaine trafficking.

Police say 37-year-old Austin Roberts III conspired to sell drugs from 2007 to his arrest last December. After being indicted on state and federal charges, authorities say Roberts eluded arrest for over a year before finally being caught in San Diego, California. If the court accepts the plea deal Roberts could be sentenced to 19 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for August 9th.

3 other men have pleaded guilty to their participation in the drug ring. 39 year-old Andrew Jackson of Baltimore, 37-year-old Maurice Kenneth Hardy of Nanticoke, and 29 year-old Tereek Nutter of Salisbury previously pleaded guilty to their participation in the drug conspiracy.  A judge sentenced Jackson to 10 years in prison, Nutter to 151 months, and scheduled Hardy's sentencing for May 14th.
