Harrington Burglary Suspect Dead After Self Inflicted Gunshot Wound

HARRINGTON, Del. - A Harrington burglary suspect is dead, the result of what police say, was a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Saturday afternoon, at approximately 2:00pm, a 45 year-old suspect broke into an unoccupied home on the 700 block of Coon Den Road in Harrington.

While the suspect was still inside, the homeowner returned to the residence and confronted the man.  He then ran into a nearby wooded area, with several handguns taken from the home.

Troopers later found the suspect in the woods, suffering from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

As per Delaware State Police Policy the name of the deceased will not be released due to the investigation classified as an apparent suicide.
