Single Car Crash In Frankford Leaves One Dead

FRANKFORD, Del. - A Dagsboro man has died after an early morning crash in Frankford.

Delaware State Police say on Friday morning, around 1:30 AM, 37-year-old Anthony Jacono Jr. was driving his Chevrolet Corvette on Route 113, near Daisy Street, when his car fishtailed, causing it to go into the median, and hit a tree. Jacono, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car, and later pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation. Route 113 was closed for more than three hours, while the crash was investigated and cleared. Police believe that both speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the crash.
