GREENWOOD, Del. - State Police have wrapped up a month long investigation, with three arrests.

Delaware State Police Sussex County Governor's Task Force and Sussex County Drug Unit had been investigating illegal drug activity at the Greenwood Inn on Sussex Highway. Detectives started surveillance, where they reportedly saw Raymond Wood, 27, of Greenwood, along with two women, Charli Evans, 24, of Greenwood, and Donna Ferrell, 22, of Federalsburg, get into a car to leave the parking lot.

Troopers say they pulled behind the car, to try to talk to Wood, who was wanted out of Maryland. According to the report, Wood accelerated in reverse, hitting one of the State Police cars, but after a brief struggle, they were able to take all three into custody.

Police searched the room of the hotel that the three left, and found 750 baggies of heroin, a fully loaded .40 caliber handgun, and more than $1,000 in suspected drug money, along with drug paraphernalia. Police say they later discovered that the gun had been reported stolen from a burglary in Kent County. Wood and Evans reportedly gave fake names to authorities.

Wood was charged with a long list of offences including, possession of a controlled substance - heroin, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. He is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $75,000 bond.

Evans and Ferrell were both charged with possession of a controlled substance - heroin, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, 2nd degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, and 3 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Evans was additionally charged with criminal impersonation. Both women are being held at Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on bond.
