SALISBURY, Md. - WMDT is saying goodbye to Noon Anchor and Reporter Alyana Gomez. Alyana will be joining WTEV/WAWS in Jacksonville, Florida. She has been with WMDT since June of 2010. Alyana began as a reporter/producer, but quickly worked her way up to the anchor desk.

While at WMDT, Alyana's work has been recognized by the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association for Outstanding Enterprise news for her work on a piece on the dance group "The Untouchables" and also Outstanding Documentary/In-Depth Reporting for her series on the "Delmar Crash Petition."

Alyana was also involved in the community. She most recently supported the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council event "Broadway's Best." She has also emceed the Alzheimer's Walk in Salisbury for the past two years, judged local talent shows and served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the 2013 Martin Luther King Jr. Banquet, among other events.

Alyana will be missed and the WMDT team wishes her the best of luck with her new job. WMDT's Jenn Falsetti will be taking over the noon broadcast, on top of her role as morning anchor.
