Chihuahua Dog Races To Celebrate Cinco De Mayo In Dewey

DEWEY BEACH, Del. - A local beach town is celebrating Cinco de Mayo, with a unique tradition. For the second year, Dewey Beach will host chihuahua and small dog races, along with a dog fashion show.

The two events will be held at the Lifesaving Station on Dagsworthy Street, starting at 12 PM on Saturday May 4th. The fastest pup will be heading home with a $100 prize. The fashion show will take place on Sunday afternoon, at 12:00 PM.

An entry fee of $20 is required for dogs planning to race, proceeds will be donated to Dewey Beach Patrol. Dogs must be registered with Dewey Beach to participate.
