Easton Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges

Posted: Updated:

EASTON, Md. - A traffic stop leads to drug citations and charges for three. Easton Police say on Saturday, they stopped a car driven by 20-year-old Yeniakal Tilaye, of Maryland, on Route 50, near Dutchman's Lane.

During the stop, the officer apparently smelled suspected marijuana, and searched the car and its three occupants. The two passengers, Stifanos Daniel, 18, and Samuel Fesseha Dawit, 20, both of Virginia, were both issued criminal citations for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, after small amounts of suspected marijuana was allegedly found on them.

Police say they also found suspected marijuana and suspected ecstasy on Tilaye. He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of ecstasy, and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia. Tilaye was later released on bond pending trial.
