DSP Investigate Reckless Endangerment, Rock Thrown Through Windshield

BETHANY BEACH, Del. - The Delaware State Police is investigating an incident in which a large rock was thrown through a car window north of Bethany Beach.

The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. Friday evening as a 23 year-old male was driving his Mazda 626 northbound on Coastal Highway near the Indian River Bridge.  When he was in the area of Ocean Ridge Development, a large rock was thrown from an unknown direction through the front windshield, hitting a 22 year-old female passenger in the face.  The male victim, who was not injured, was able to safely pull his car over onto the shoulder of the road and come to a stop.  The female victim was initially transported by EMS to Beebe Hospital and later transferred to Christiana Medical Center for treatment.  Her status is unknown at this time.
