SALISBURY, Md. - Walgreens is joining the movement for kidney health awareness with a free screening tomorrow.
The event is open to the public and is on a first come, first serve basis. During the screening, customers will get their creatine, blood glucose and blood pressure checked, to determine the health of their kindeys. Walgreens tells WMDT of the importance of the screening because of how vital these organs are to your body.
Danielle Wiley, of Walgreens, says "most people don't realize how much your kidneys do for you. Filters all your blood and takes care of your other organs. It's very important to know that they are healthy and your body is taken care of. It can cause a lot of diseases if your kidneys aren't working properly."
Walgreens will also be hosting a bake sale starting Saturday at 8 AM, to raise money for the Kidney Walk, taking place May 5th.
