Bethany Beach Police Officer Arrested

BETHANY BEACH, Del. - A police officer in one local town is being accused of assault. The Delaware Attorney General's Office announced today that an investigation by their Special Investigations Unit, has lead to the arrest of a Bethany Beach Police Lieutenant.

According to the report, the investigation showed that 45-year-old Lt. Richard Haden, assaulted a suspect on March 3rd, of this year, who was in custody at the Department Headquarters. The Town apparently fully corporated with the investigation.

Haden was indicted by the Sussex County Grand Jury on April 22nd, with one count of 3rd degree assault. He turned himself in later that day, and was later released on $500 bond. Haden is scheduled to be back in court on May 20th.
