Bethany Beach 5th Grader To Host 5K For Boston Bombing Victims

BETHANY BEACH, Del. - Considering everything that's happened in Boston, one Bethany Beach fifth grader wants to help in a big way.

Avid runner, Blake Hundley decided to share his love of the sport and host a 5K run next Friday, May 3rd on the boardwalk of Bethany Beach. The 11-year-old and his father tell WMDT after seeing the images from the attack, helping was their only option.

"It didn't take long for him to realize that if he was there watching me run [the marathon], that's where he would have been," said Rick Hundley.

"I knew that the victims of the Boston bombing, it was just a tragic event and they need support from other people and I feel like I need to help them," said Blake Hundley.

All proceeds from this event will go to "One Fund Boston." Registration is $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the race.
