WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington Police say a teenager whom officers shot at after he pointed a gun at them during a foot chase has surrendered to authorities.
Officers say the 15-year-old's grandmother brought him to headquarters Thursday morning. He is charged with weapons offenses.
Members of the firearms squad were chasing the teen on Delamore Place on Wednesday evening, when police say he pointed a handgun at officers pursuing him. That's when police say one officer fired multiple shots at the man, who dropped the gun and fled down an alley. Neither the teen nor the officers was hit.
Police say the man was the target of an ongoing investigation, but didn't give details about what kind of investigation and declined to identify him.
