Salisbury City Council Accepts Fire Chief Nomination

SALISBURY, Md. - The City of Salisbury finally has a new fire chief. Effectively immediately, Rick Hoppes will assume his position as Chief of the Salisbury Fire Department.

Mayor Jim Ireton officially nominated Hoppes Monday who was at the time, the acting fire chief.   

Council members discussed the nomination in a closed session Tuesday afternoon and soon after approved the nominated.

Salisbury has not had a permanent fire chief since former chief Jeff Simpson resigned over a year ago.
