SALISBURY, Md. - Elizabeth Rose Maldve, 95, Salisbury, MD passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Estonia she was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Kiviselg. Liz immigrated to the U.S. on June 29, 1951 and later received her U.S. citizenship on March 12, 1957 which she was very proud of. Liz faithfully volunteered at Deer's Head Hospital Center for 60 years where she logged over 2,000 hours per year. She began visiting patients, sewing projects, managing the beauty shop and volunteering on the auxiliary board where she served as President in 1979 and 1980. She later volunteered in Volunteer Services office where she was still active until the day she passed. She received numerous accolades for her volunteer work at DHHC including the Governor's Service Award for Lifetime Achievement, Maryland You Are Beautiful, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's (DHMH) Council of Auxiliaries Lifetime Achievement award. She was a local Jefferson Award winner through WBOC-TV 16 and appeared in a commercial. She was recognized by Wicomico Division of Aging and Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP) where she received a 1,000 hour pin. She was featured in ShoreCAN's Volunteer Spotlight and her picture appeared in their public service announcement during National Volunteer Week. She was just nominated for an award with Home Instead Senior Care's Salute to Senior Service.

Liz is survived by her daughter, Maria Martin of Salisbury; grandchildren, Andrew Maldve and Dr. Regina Maldve; great grandson, Tyler Maldve and a daughter-in-law, Jean Maldve of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Leonid Maldve and a son, Peter Maldve.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Salisbury and there will also be a memorial service held on Friday, May 3 at 2:30 PM at the auditorium at Deer's Head Hospital in Salisbury. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Volunteers of Deer's Head, Inc. 351 Deer's Head Hospital Road, Salisbury, MD 21801 or St. Peters Episcopal Church.
