Salisbury University Earth Week Celebrations

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Students kicked off "Earth Week" Monday at Salisbury University.

SU's Student Government Association organized the event with games, arts and crafts. Also, students shared their experiences from their "One in Seven Billion" class project, where each person, for one month changed their behavior.

"Each of us makes an impact on the environment, whether it's big, small, minute, whatever," said Michael Bengtson, SU SGA VP of Sustainability. "Everything we do impacts and every little change impacts as well and the more positive impacts we have, then the better positive environment changes we'll see."

Bengston says among the changes he would like to see at the school: adding solar panels to each building and a wind turbine on campus.
