UPDATE: Suspected Meth Lab In Salisbury Considered Small Operation

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - We're learning more details about that suspected meth lab found inside a Salisbury apartment, which prompted Sunday night's evacuation.

Around 10 p.m., EMS, Hazmat and fire crews responded to Parkwood Apartments on Schumaker Drive for an alleged overdose. Once inside, they reportedly found highly toxic and possibly combustible chemicals. The complex was evacuated, but residents were later let back inside. Officials say they believe the suspected lab wasn't a large operation.

"It doesn't have to be a full scale laboratory or operation. It could be simply one bottle where someone was producing chemicals that could produce methamphetamines," said Wicomico County State's Attorney, Matt Maciarello.

Two people were taken to the hospital for chemical inhalation. One has already been released. The investigation is ongoing.
