DELMAR, Md. - Wanda Ellis, 65 of Delmar, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at her home. Born in Salisbury, Maryland she was the daughter of the late, Walter I. Shockley, Jr. and Hilda Rayne Shockley.  "Miss Wanda" was a true servant of Christ. She was a member of Parkway Church of God, where she served as youth Leader, Sunday School teacher, administrative assistant, she planned and organized meals for church fellowships and events including feeding the homeless. She also attended Delmarva Evangelistic Church for many years. Her past memberships include: Delmar Elementary PTA President, Delmar Junior/Senior High School PTA President, Delmar Little League secretary, president of the Ladies ministry at Parkway Church of God, director in Mary Kay Cosmetics and she served as administrative assistant at Parkway Church of God for the last 23 years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Stephen H. Ellis; daughter, Tonya Ellis Hoppa and husband, John, their children: Morgan, Jenna, Cara, Justine and Hunter; son, Stephen H. Ellis Jr. and wife, Erin, their children: Ethan, Skylar and Jordi. She served as a second mother to Amy Jester her son, Elijah and Hannah Washburn, Maria Emely. Other survivors include: sister, Cheryl Shockley Davis and husband, Albert "Butch" of Rosenburg, TX; brothers: David W. Shockley of Parsonsburg, Mark R. Shockley and wife, Penny of Delmar and Andrew I. Shockley and wife, Carole Anne of Ivanhoe, VA; and nieces and nephews: Marcus, Matthew, Dusty, Travis, Shelly and Christina Shockley, Ashley Hayes, Chad and Scott Davis and Mandy Davis Bryan. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Todd Ellis.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 11:00 am at Holloway Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday night from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Greg Morris and Bishop William Reid will officiate. Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.  Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802 or Parkway Church of God Sub Sales, 600 Edison St., Salisbury, MD 21804.  Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 501 Snow Hill Rd., Salisbury, MD 21804.
