SALISBURY, Md. - The Smell of barbecue will soon fill the air as the annual "Pork in the Park Barbeque Festival" prepares to kick off Friday evening.
All weekend long you can enjoy some great barbecue, live music, rides, games and so much more. You can even catch The Marshall Tucker Band headline the main stage Saturday night.
Don't worry if it rains - they'll have extra tents set up just in case.
New to this year's event, a Wing War on Sunday at noon.
"That includes a people's choice wing competition, so people can vote for their favorite restaurant wings. And then we'll go to the main stage - there's an amateur, and most exciting for me, a professional wing eating competition! So we have the number one ranked eater right now, Joey Chestnut coming into town," Kristin Conn of Wicomico Parks & Recreation said.
Admission is $5 daily for adults, and children under 12 are admitted free.
Free parking and shuttle service will be available from the Tri-County Council Building Parking Lot located at 31901 Tri-County Way, opposite of Wor-Wic Community College on Route 50. The shuttle will run all hours of the event and for one hour after the close of the festival.
Pets and outside food and drinks are not permitted on festival grounds.
