DENTON, Md. - Authorities are investigating a vacant home fire in Denton. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, the fire started around 11:50 PM on Wednesday, in the attic of the South 5th Street home.
The fire, which was reportedly discovered by a passerby, caused $17,000 in damages. It took 28 firefighters, around 20 minutes to control the flames.
The Fire Marshal's Office is being assisted by Denton Police. They cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the State Fire Marshal's Easton Office at 410-822-7609.
