Posted: Updated:

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Officials tell WMDT a police chase in Princess Anne yesterday began on the campus of UMES. According to reports, a UMES campus officer attempted to pull over a student for a minor offense when the student, Jeniece Grear of Waldorf, allegedly took off.

Officials say the chase lasted 15 minutes and occurred on and off the University campus. Princess Anne Police reportedly joined the chase right before it abruptly ended in a single vehicle fender bender.

At this time, officials say there have been no criminal charges, and no evidence of alcohol or drugs. UMES Campus Police say they have recommend to the local court that Grear only be charged with moving, or traffic, violations, but no word yet on official charges.

We will continue to bring you the latest on this as it comes into our newsroom.

We've been told by UMES officials that Grear is a senior at the University.
