OCEAN CITY, Md. – An online petition to keep Diogo Facchini behind bars for killing Michael Cheswick has collected over 3,000 signatures.

Facchini was sentenced to 10 years in prison – 5 suspended – for negligent homicide. It was last Memorial Day 2012 that Facchini, driving drunk, struck and killed 22-year old Towson University student, Michael Cheswick. Facchini struck Cheswick, who was on foot, near Ocean's City's Coastal Highway and 54th Street.  Facchini then sped away before being pulled over nearby.

When Cheswick's family and friends heard on April 2nd that Facchini was already eligible for parole, they launched a petition to prevent it. It currently stands at 3,013 supporters.
