SALISBURY, Md. - An annual local BBQ event is celebrating a big anniversary this year. Pork in the Park celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The festival will be held on April 19th through 21st this year at WinterPlace Park. Admission will be $5 but children under 12 will get in for free.
There will be a variety of events for everyone to enjoy, including live music, rides, games, food and drinks. The Marshall Tucker Band will be the headline performer and will play on the night of the 20th. Other bands, such as The Bonedaddies, Barren Creek Band, The Larks, Tom Larson Band, Smokin Gunz, Backfin Banjo Band and The Crawdaddies, will perform throughout the weekend.
There will also be a cornhole competition, for the third straight year. That event will be on April 21st and it will be $30 for each team to participate. Teams have until the 12th to register for the competition. There will be two-person teams and the winners will receive $300, second place will get $150, and third place will get $75.
This year they are also introducing the Mountaire Farms Eastern Shore Wing War on the 21st. This event will be separated into three parts, the People's Choice Wing Competition, the Amateur Wing-Eating Competition and the Major League Eating Professional Wing-Eating Competition.
