DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware's spring 2013 upstate trout season has opened.
The season opened Saturday at 7:30 a.m. Six designated trout streams in northern New Castle County have been stocked with thousands of rainbow and brown trout, including some trophy-sized fish. Trout stocking will continue weekly through May 2.
A fishing license is required for most people who want to fish in the streams. A resident license costs $8.50 for anyone 16 through 64. Children under the age of 16 and residents over 65 are exempt.
Most trout fishers also must buy a Delaware Trout Stamp. All proceeds from the trout stamps are used to purchase the next year's fish.
