SALISBURY, Md. - If your health is top priority, one organization is hosting a workshop for you. The Blind Industries and Services of Maryland will present a free Healthy Lifestyle workshop for blind and low vision diabetic seniors (55 & over) on Wednesday, April 17 from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
The workshop will focus on non-visual methods for managing diabetes, self-care and overall health. BISM staff will also provide hands-on training to aid blind and low vision people in using devices like glucose meters, weight scales and blood pressure monitors. To wrap up the day there will be a "healthy luncheon lecture" where participants will receive handouts and information packets that promote a healthy lifestyle.
The workshop will be at BISM's Senior Training Center located at 2240 Northwood Drive, in Salisbury. Pre-registration is required for BISM's Healthy Lifestyles Workshop.
