WATTSVILLE, Md. - Charles Frederick "Curly" Linton, Sr, 79, died peacefully at his Wattsville home, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013. Born November 7, 1933 in Stockton, MD, he was a son of the late Adolphus Linton and the late Virgie Tapman Linton. Curly worked at Moore Business Forms in Snow Hill, MD for 37 years, retiring in 1994 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Church, VA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially loved baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ada Wood Linton; five children, a son, Charles Frederick Linton, Jr. (Tammy) of Salisbury, a daughter Cheryl Revel (Charlie) of Parsonsburg, a son Steve Linton (Lauren) of Pittsville, a son Benny Reed (Ramona) of Bloxom, VA, and a daughter Maureen Cody (Steve) of Snow Hill; two brothers, Samuel Linton (Audry) of York, PA and Rev. Daniel Linton of Laurel, DE; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amber Nancy Linton; two sisters, Emma Jane Hales and Rose May Jones and four brothers, Maywood, Columbus, James and Winston.
Family and friends will gather Monday, April 8, 2013 from 6 - 8 PM and Tuesday April 9, 2013 from 1 -2 PM at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery on Old Snow Hill Road. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in his memory by the First Baptist Church, 31027 Depot Street, New Church, VA 23415.
