Magnolia Man Allegedly Fleeing From Police Crashes Into Bystander

DOVER, Del. - A Magnolia man who reportedly lead police on a chase, is now being bars. Dover Police say they were headed to "Many Things," a store on W. Lockerman Street, in connection with an on-going drug investigation, when they noticed 48-year-old James Wilson, the so called target of the investigation, in a parking lot across the street.

Officers say that Wilson got into a car an drove off, but when they tried to stop the vehicle, he fled at a high rate of speed, and ran a red light, causing him to hit a pick-up truck. According to the report, Wilson then fled on foot, but officers caught up with him, and placed him under arrest. Police say that no drugs were found during a search of the vehicle, but undisclosed amount of cash was.

Wilson was charged with 2nd and 3rd degree assault, and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony (the vehicle), along with numerous traffic charges. He is now being held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $18,475 bond. The investigation is still on-going at this time.

The driver and passenger of the truck that Wilson reportedly hit, were both treated for multiple contusions at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. They were both later released.
