Update: Police Identify Man Killed In Pittsville Crash

Posted: Updated:

PITTSVILLE, Md. - State police are investigating a fatal car crash in Pittsville.

Maryland State Police say Hugh Albert Gingery Jr, 55, of Snow Hill, MD was killed in the crash Thursday night.

The crash, which closed the intersection of Mount Hermon Road and Sixty Foot Road, took place around 7:30PM on Thursday. We're told a van and a pick-up truck collided, killing the driver of the van, and sending the other driver to the hospital.

Maryland State Police say Gingery was not wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol is believed to be a factor.

We're told a 5 year old boy was a passenger in the pickup truck, but was secured properly and was not injured in the crash.
