Talbot Co. Schools Superintendent To Retire

TALBOT CO., Md. - Talbot County Public Schools will soon be looking for a new Superintendent.

The announcement was made late yesterday, that at he end of the school year, Dr. Karen Salmon will retire. She was appointed as superintendent in 2003. During her time with the county, Dr. Salmon received numerous awards, including the 2012 Maryland Superintendent of the Year.

Dr. Salmon said of her decision, "I have truly enjoyed the many leadership positions that I have held in the system and most of all developing the myriad of programs and instructional services that we have been able to offer our students over the past 25 years. Additionally, I value the professional and personal relationships that I have had with our outstanding Talbot County Public Schools staff. They are an outstanding TEAM dedicated to the success of our students."

The Board will begin discussing the process and timeline for finding Doctor Salmon's replacement, at its meeting on April 17th.
