Robin Pope Laid To Rest In Kent Island

Posted: Updated:

STEVENSVILLE, Md. (AP) - A Queen Anne's County woman who went missing in March and whose body found on the Kent Island shoreline has been laid to rest.

A funeral for Robin L. Pope was held Tuesday at a Kent Island church.

The 51-year-old Pope was last seen on the night of March 1, when she stopped by the Stevensville home she once shared with her husband to gather some belongings.  Her estranged husband has said he left when she arrived, and that when he returned home, her car was in the driveway but she was missing. The couple's dog was found dead near a pier outside a neighboring home.

Pope's body was found March 23 by a fisherman who alerted the police.
