Two Year Investigation Leads To An Arrest

OCEAN CITY, MD. – Ocean City Police say a 2 year investigation concluded with serving of multiple search warrants in Ocean City, West Ocean City and Berlin.

Police say on Tuesday, April 2nd, OCPD and the Worcester County Sheriff's Criminal Enforcement team arrested Jerry Lee Hurt, age 37, of Edgewood, Maryland. Investigators say Hurt was the target of the investigation.

Authorities tell WMDT Hurt was arrested at a Berlin Residence after police recovered various items, including two handguns, oxycodone tablets, crack cocaine, and heroin, while executing a search warrant.

Investigators say Hurt was charged with multiple violations including possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of oxycodone, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute oxycodone, and 2 counts of possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking offense.

Hurt is being held on $100,000 bond and police say he has been transferred to the Worcester County Jail.

Police say Hurt is currently on parole for a previous drug distribution conviction in Harford County and additional handgun charges are pending.
