Councilman Jake Day Reacts To Win

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - After winning the Salisbury City Council in District 2 seat, WMDT spoke with Councilman Jake Day about how he plans to help the city.

Revitalizing downtown Salisbury was a large part of Day's campaign.  He says "I think the best places, the best downtown's, the best vibrant areas are mixed use they are 24 hours, there's activity at all time during the day, and that means residences, there's got to be residences above shops downtown."

Day feels improving the parking in the downtown area is necessary step at revitalizing and continuing to develop the area "we've got to better manage our parking.  That's got to be a concern as we develop downtown as we continue to grow downtown we've got to better manage our parking".

Ready to work for all of Salisbury, Councilman Jake Day says he's ready to work with anyone in order to make Salisbury a better, stronger city.

"I'm one of 5.  I'm not part of a majority of 3, and I don't see an opposition of 2. 17:26:57 I look forward to working with all 4 of my colleagues and the mayor.  I look forward to working with the citizens of Salisbury, and also recognizing that in addition to being one of 5 and having 1 vote and being a part of the solution, we'll keep our arrows pointed at true north.  So we'll always try to get things done for Salisbury," says Day.
