SALISBURY, Md. - 8-year-old Brooke Mulford has been practicing her pitch, for Tuesday's big game at Perdue Stadium.
The Delmarva Shorebirds are once again taking on the Salisbury Seagulls for their fourth annual Exhibition game. Brooke recently relapsed with neuroblastoma, and the event helps to raise money for cancer research. The Shorebirds' General Manager says this will be a night she won't forget.
"Brooke will be throwing out the first pitch to start the game off, and when she does that there will be a player catching that first pitch for her, and we'll get her an autograph, a photo with the player and all that good stuff to make sure we create a great memory for her coming out here to the ballpark," said Chris Bitters, the Delmarva Shorebirds General Manager.
Tickets are $5 for students and regular price for everyone else. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. They're still being sold at the door, so head on out and help Brooke find a cure.
