LAUREL, Del. - Philip Martin Smith, 70, of Lincoln, NE, formerly of Laurel, DE, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Plattsmouth, NE. Born in Laurel, he was the son of the late Herman Young Smith and Lulu Bryan Smith. He was a 1960 graduate of Laurel High School and received an Associates Degree from the Jefferson School of Commerce in Charlottesville, VA. He worked for Perdue in the early 1960's and then retired in 1994 from Centel after 30 years. He enjoyed playing golf, especially with his daughter, Crystal and collecting fire trucks and lighthouses.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Crystal Robinson and her husband, Dale of Papillion, NE and Kimberly Adkins and her husband, Brian of Salisbury and their 2 children, Amber Adkins of Delmar, DE and Jessica Adkins of Salisbury; a brother, Wayne Smith and his wife, June of Edgewater, MD; and 2 nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel, DE. Rev. Howard Travers will officiate.
