Kaine To Announce 1st Bill As Senator

Posted: Updated:

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia's junior member of the U.S. Senate plans to announce his first bill at the American Legion headquarters in Richmond.

Sen. Tim Kaine will be joined by representatives from veteran's service organizations and others for the Tuesday afternoon announcement. According to Kaine's office, the bill will include strategies to ease the transition of service members from active duty to the civilian workforce. It also will address employment issues Kaine has heard about from veterans across Virginia.

The former Democratic governor was elected to the Senate in November.
