Arrest Made In Connection With An Accomack County Arson

ACCOMACK CO., Va - Early Tuesday morning, authorities made an arrest in connection to one arson in the string of 77 arsons plaguing Accomack County since November, its not clear yet if the person in custody has any alleged relation to the previous 76 arsons. 

40-year-old Tonya Bundick, of Parksley, was taken in for questioning after a traffic stop near the most recent fire in Melfa. That arson took place at a vacant residence on Airport Drive at about 11:40 PM Monday.  Since being questioned, Bundick has been charged with one felony count of arson and one felony count of conspiracy to commit arson. She is now being held without bond. The charges are only in relation to last night's fire in Melfa.

There was also a male suspect brought in for questioning Tuesday morning; however, thus far, that person has not been identified and has not been arrested or charged. It is not clear at this time whether or not more arrests will be made, or if additional people will be brought in for questioning.

A press conference will be held this afternoon. Authorities urge that the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information about Bundick and/or the arsons to call the Accomack County Arson Tip Line at 757-655-1437.
